✧ Marwān sent to Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, and sent her freedman to her. She said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wake up in a state of janābah and then fast, and he would not break the fast. He said: He returned to him and informed him. Then he sent to ‘Ā’ishah and sent her freedman—or her servant Dhakwān—to her, and she said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wake up in a state of janābah from intercourse, not from a wet dream, and then fast, and he would not break the fast. He said to him: Go to Abū Hurayrah and inform him. He went to Abū Hurayrah and informed him of what Umm Salamah and ‘Ā’ishah said, and he said: They know better.
