✧ There will be rulers: you will recognize and you will disapprove. Whoever disapproves is free of blame, and whoever hates is safe. But whoever is pleased and follows — they said, 'O Messenger of Allah, should we not fight them?' He said, 'No, as long as they pray the prayer.'

machine translationHishām b. Ḥassān narrates it, and there is disagreement about him. Mukhallad b. al-Ḥusayn narrated it from Hishām, from al-Ḥasan, from his mother, from Umm Salamah; Abū Nuʿaym al-Ḥalabī said this from him. Yaḥyā al-Qaṭṭān, Muʿtamir, Ḥammād b. ʿĪsā, Murajjā b. Rajāʾ, ʿĪsā b. Yūnus, Suwayd b. ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz and ʿAbdullāh b. Bakr al-Sahmī differed from him, and narrated it from Hishām, from al-Ḥasan, from Ḍabbah b. Miḥṣan, from Umm Salamah, and this is the correct version.
