machine translationNāfiʿ narrates it, and there is disagreement about him. ʿUbayd Allāh b. ʿUmar, Mūsā b. ʿUqbah, Mālik b. Anas (may God have mercy on him), Ibn Jurayj, Muḥammad b. Isḥāq and Jaʿfar b. Burqān narrated it from Nāfiʿ, from Ibn ʿUmar, from Ḥafṣah. Nāfiʿ b. Abī Nuʿaym narrated it from Nāfiʿ, from Ḥafṣah, and did not mention Ibn ʿUmar. Ayyūb b. Mūsā narrated it from Nāfiʿ, from Ṣafiyyah bint Abī ʿUmayr, from one of the wives of the Prophet ﷺ. The statement of ʿUbayd Allāh b. ʿUmar and those who followed him is more sound (aṣaḥḥ).
