✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ set out for Hajj when five nights remained of Dhu al-Qa'dah, and the people did not mention anything except Hajj. When he was at Sarif, and the Messenger of God ﷺ had brought the sacrificial animals with him, and some of the notables of the people also had them, he commanded the people to exit ihram with an Umrah, except those who had brought sacrificial animals. I menstruated that day, and he entered upon me while I was crying. He said: "What is wrong with you, O Aishah? Perhaps you have menstruated!" She said: I said: "Yes. By God, I wish I had not come out with you this year on this journey!" He said: "Do not do that, do not say that, for you will perform all that the pilgrim performs, except that you will not circumambulate the House." She said: "So I continued with my Hajj, and the Messenger of God ﷺ entered Makkah, and everyone who had no sacrificial animal exited ihram, and his wives exited ihram with an Umrah. When it was the Day of Sacrifice, I was brought much beef and it was placed in my house. I said: 'What is this?' They said: 'The Messenger of God ﷺ slaughtered cows on behalf of his wives.' When it was the night of Hasbah, the Messenger of God ﷺ sent me with my brother Abd al-Rahman b. Abi Bakr, and he made me perform Umrah from Tan'im in place of my Umrah that I had missed. [My father said:]"

machine translationSomeone else claimed that this is a mistake on the part of ʿUrwah, and that the correct version is the narration of al-Aswad, al-Qāsim and ʿAmrah from her, that she entered the state of iḥrām for Ḥajj alone (ifrād).
