What scholars said about it

In their own words, as Hadith Unlocked records them. They are shown, not summarised into a grade.

  • ʿAbd al-ʿAẓīm al-Mudhirī

machine translationThere is something in the heart about this report, for I fear that Muḥammad b. Isḥāq did not hear it from Ibn Shihāb.

    in مسند أحمد, p. 26928
  • Dāraquṭnī

machine translationMuḥammad b. Isḥāq also narrated it, saying: "al-Zuhrī mentioned from ʿUrwah from ʿĀʾishah." It is said that Muḥammad b. Isḥāq took it from Muʿāwiyah b. Yaḥyā al-Ṣadafī, because he was his companion on the journey to al-Rayy in the entourage of al-Mahdī, and Muʿāwiyah b. Yaḥyā is weak (ḍaʿīf).

    in مسند أحمد, p. 26928
  • Abū al-Ḥasan Nur al-Dīn ʿAlī b. Abi Bakr al-Haythamī
