حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ أَخْبَرَ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لَهَا: أَلَمْ تَرَيْ أَنَّ قَوْمَكِ حِينَ بَنَوُا الْكَعْبَةَ اسْتَقْصَرُوا عَنْ قَوَاعِدِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ؟ فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَفَلَا تَرُدُّهَا عَلَى قَوَاعِدِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ فَقَالَ: لَوْلَا حِدْثَانُ قَوْمِكِ بِالْكُفْرِ ! فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ: إِنْ كَانَتْ عَائِشَةُ سَمِعَتْ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، فَلَا أُرَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ تَرَكَ اسْتِلَامَ الرُّكْنَيْنِ اللَّذَيْنِ يَلِيَانِ الْحِجْرَ، إِلَّا أَنَّ الْبَيْتَ لَمْ يَتِمَّ عَلَى قَوَاعِدِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ

✧ The Prophet ﷺ said to her: 'Did you not see that your people, when they built the Kaaba, fell short of the foundations of Abraham?' I said, 'O Messenger of God, why do you not restore it to the foundations of Abraham?' He said: 'Were it not that your people are recent in disbelief!' Ibn Umar said: If Aishah heard this hadith from the Messenger of God ﷺ, then I do not think the Messenger of God ﷺ abandoned touching the two corners that are next to the Hijr, except that the House was not completed on the foundations of Abraham.
