✧ Rifa'a al-Qurazi divorced his wife with a final divorce. After him, Abd al-Rahman b. al-Zubayr married her. She came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: “O Prophet of God, she was married to Rifa'a, and he divorced her with the last of three divorces. Then she married Abd al-Rahman b. al-Zubayr after him. By God, O Messenger of God, he has nothing with him but something like this fringe.” The Messenger of God ﷺ smiled and then said to her: “Perhaps you want to go back to Rifa'a. No, not until you taste his sweetness and he tastes your sweetness.” She said: Abu Bakr was sitting with the Prophet ﷺ, and Khalid b. Sa'id was sitting at the door of the room, having not been granted permission to enter. Khalid began calling out to Abu Bakr, saying: “O Abu Bakr, will you not restrain this woman from what she is saying openly in the presence of the Messenger of God ﷺ?”
