حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَابِسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

مَا شَبِعَ آلُ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ مِنْ طَعَامِ بُرٍّ فَوْقَ ثَلَاثٍ، قَالَتْ: وَإِنَّمَا نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ لُحُومِ الْأَضَاحِيِّ فَوْقَ ثَلَاثٍ، جَهِدَ النَّاسُ، ثُمَّ رَخَّصَ فِيهَا.

Translation

✧ The family of Muhammad ﷺ never had their fill of wheat bread for more than three days. She said: “Indeed, the Messenger of God ﷺ only forbade the meat of sacrificial animals beyond three days because people were in hardship; then he later permitted it.”
