✧ There was a woman who used to borrow items and deny having borrowed them. The Prophet ﷺ ordered her hand to be cut off. Her family then approached Usama bin Zaid and they spoke to him about the matter. Usama then spoke to the Prophet ﷺ about it. The Prophet ﷺ said to Usama, "Do you not hear me speak about matters related to the limits set by Allah?". The Prophet ﷺ then stood up as a preacher and said, "People before you were destroyed because when the rich among them committed theft, they let them go, but when the poor committed theft, they punished them. By the One in Whose Hand my soul is, if Fatima bint Muhammad had committed theft, her hand would have been cut off." The Prophet ﷺ then ordered the hand of the woman to be cut off.
