✧ Do not clothe your women in silk, for I heard Umar narrating from the Prophet ﷺ that he said: Whoever wears silk in this world will not wear it in the Hereafter. And Abdullah b. al-Zubayr said of his own accord: And whoever does not wear it in the Hereafter will not enter Paradise. Allah, Exalted is He, said: 'And their clothing therein will be silk.'

machine translationShuʿbah narrated it from Abū Dhubyān Khalīfah b. Kaʿb, from Ibn al-Zubayr, from ʿUmar, traced back to the Prophet ﷺ. Shuʿbah was contradicted by Jaʿfar b. Maymūn, who narrated it from Abū Dhubyān Khalīfah b. Kaʿb, from Ibn al-Zubayr, and did not trace it back (marfūʿ). Thābit al-Bunānī also narrated it from Ibn al-Zubayr, from ʿUmar, as a statement stopping at him (mawqūf). Yazīd al-Rishk narrated it from Muʿādhah, from Umm ʿAmr bint ʿAbdullāh b. al-Zubayr, from her father, from ʿUmar, and traced it back to the Prophet ﷺ. Its being traced back to the Prophet is sound (ṣaḥīḥ).
