حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَيْمَنُ بْنُ نَابِلٍ عَنِ امْرَأَةٍ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ يُقَالُ لَهَا أُمُّ كُلْثُومٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْبَغِيضِ النَّافِعِ التَّلْبِينِ، يَعْنِي الْحَسْوَ، قَالَتْ: وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا اشْتَكَى أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَهْلِهِ لَمْ تَزَلِ الْبُرْمَةُ عَلَى النَّارِ، حَتَّى يَلْتَقِيَ أَحَدُ طَرَفَيْهِ، يَعْنِي: يَبْرَأُ أَوْ يَمُوتُ

Translation

✧ You should have the disliked but beneficial talbinah – meaning the broth. She said, 'When any of the Messenger of Allah's ﷺ household was ill, the pot would not leave the fire until one of two ends was reached – meaning he recovered or died.'
