حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ الدَّسْتُوَائِيُّ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ قَالَ
قُلْتُ لِعَائِشَةَ أَيُبَاشِرُ الصَّائِمُ يَعْنِي امْرَأَتَهُ؟ قَالَتْ لَا قُلْتُ أَلَيْسَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُبَاشِرُ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ؟ قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَمْلَكَكُمْ لِإِرْبِهِ

✧ I said to Aishah: May the fasting person have intimate contact—meaning with his wife? She said: No. I said: Did not the Messenger of God ﷺ have intimate contact while fasting? She said: The Messenger of God ﷺ was the most in control of you of his desire.
