✧ We set out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ thinking it was only Hajj. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived at Makkah, circumambulated, and did not exit ihram. He had the sacrificial animal with him, so those of his wives and companions who were with him circumambulated, and those who did not have a sacrificial animal exited ihram. She menstruated. We completed our Hajj rites. When it was the night of al-Hasbah, the night of departure, she said: O Messenger of Allah, will your companions return with Hajj and 'Umrah while I return with Hajj only? He said: Did you not circumambulate the nights we arrived? She said: I said: No. He said: Go with your brother to al-Tan'im and enter ihram for 'Umrah, then your appointment is such-and-such a place. She said: Safiyyah menstruated. He said: 'Aqra or halqa! You will hold us back. Did you not circumambulate the House on the day of sacrifice? She said: Yes. He said: No harm, then depart. She said: I met the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was going up from the people of Makkah as I was descending upon them, or he was descending upon them as I was going up.

What scholars said about it

In their own words, as Hadith Unlocked records them. They are shown, not summarised into a grade.

machine translationSomeone else claimed that this is a mistake on the part of ʿUrwah, and that the correct version is the narration of al-Aswad, al-Qāsim and ʿAmrah from her, that she entered the state of iḥrām for Ḥajj alone (ifrād).
