✧ The wives of the Prophet ﷺ sent Fatimah, the daughter of the Prophet ﷺ, and she sought permission to enter while the Prophet ﷺ was with Aishah under her woolen shawl. He granted her permission, so she entered and said, "O Messenger of God, your wives have sent me to you asking for fairness regarding the daughter of Abu Quhafah." The Prophet ﷺ said, "O my daughter, do you not love what I love?" She said, "Yes." He said, "Then love this one," meaning Aishah. She said, "Fatimah then stood up and left. She went to the wives of the Prophet ﷺ and told them what she had said and what he had said to her. They said to her, "You have not helped us at all. Return to the Prophet ﷺ." Fatimah, upon her be peace, said, "By God, I will never speak to him about her again." So the wives of the Prophet ﷺ sent Zaynab bint Jahsh, and she sought permission, and he granted it. She entered and said, "O Messenger of God, your wives have sent me to you asking for fairness regarding the daughter of Abu Quhafah." Aishah said, "Then Zaynab began to berate me." Aishah said, "I began to look at the Prophet ﷺ, waiting for him to permit me to respond. I kept on until I realized that the Prophet ﷺ would not dislike it if I defended myself." She said, "So I responded to Zaynab, and I did not hesitate to silence her." The Prophet ﷺ smiled and then said, "She is the daughter of Abu Bakr."
