✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioned that he intended to observe i'tikaf during the last ten days of Ramadan. 'A'ishah asked his permission, and he permitted her, so she ordered her tent to be set up, and it was pitched. Hafsah asked 'A'ishah to seek permission for her from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and she did so, so Hafsah ordered her tent to be set up, and it was pitched. When Zaynab saw that, she ordered her tent to be set up, and it was pitched. She said: When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished praying, he left and saw the tents. He said: 'What is this?' They said: 'The tents of 'A'ishah, Hafsah, and Zaynab.' The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Did you intend righteousness by this? I am not going to observe i'tikaf.' So he returned. When he broke his fast, he observed i'tikaf for ten days of Shawwal.
