✧ A Jewish woman used to serve her, and Aishah did not do any act of kindness to her except that the Jewish woman said to her: May Allah protect you from the torment of the grave. She said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon me, so I said: O Messenger of Allah, is there torment in the grave before the Day of Resurrection? He said: No, and why that? She said: This Jewish woman, we do not do any act of kindness to her except that she says: May Allah protect you from the torment of the grave. He said: The Jews lie, and they are liars against Allah, Mighty and Majestic. There is no torment before the Day of Resurrection. She said: Then after that he remained as long as Allah willed him to remain. Then one day he went out at midday wrapped in his garment, his eyes red, calling at the top of his voice: O people, trials have overshadowed you like pieces of dark night. O people, if you knew what I know, you would weep much and laugh little. O people, seek refuge with Allah from the torment of the grave, for the torment of the grave is true.
