حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ حَدَّثَنَا دُوَيْدٌ عَنْ أَبِي سَهْلٍ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ رُومَانَ مَوْلَى عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

وَالَّذِي بَعَثَ مُحَمَّدًا ﷺ بِالْحَقِّ مَا رَأَى مُنْخُلًا، وَلَا أَكَلَ خُبْزًا مَنْخُولًا مُنْذُ بَعَثَهُ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَى أَنْ قُبِضَ. قُلْتُ: كَيْفَ [كُنْتُمْ] تَأْكُلُونَ الشَّعِيرَ ؟ قَالَتْ: كُنَّا نَقُولُ: أُفٍّ.

✧ By the One who sent Muhammad ﷺ with the truth, he never saw a sieve, nor did he eat sifted bread from the time Allah, Mighty and Majestic, sent him until he was taken in death. I said: 'How did you eat barley?' She said: 'We used to say: uff (out of disgust).'
