✧ When the Prophet ﷺ came to Madinah, his Companions fell ill, and Abu Bakr, 'Amir b. Fuhayrah the freedman of Abu Bakr, and Bilal fell ill. A'ishah asked the Prophet ﷺ permission to visit them, and he permitted her. She said to Abu Bakr: How do you find yourself? He said: Every man is met in the morning among his family, and death is closer than the strap of his sandal. She asked 'Amir, and he said: I found death before tasting it; the coward's death comes from above him. She asked Bilal, and he said: Would that I knew whether I shall spend a night in Fakhkh with idhkhir and jalil around me. She came to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him of their words. He looked toward the sky and said: O God, make Madinah beloved to us as You made Makkah beloved, or more so. O God, bless us in its sa' and its mudd, and transfer its fever to Mahya'ah.
