✧ A’ishah said: “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ died in my house, on my day, and between my chest and neck. Abd al-Rahman b. Abi Bakr entered with a fresh siwak in his hand. He looked at it, and I thought he needed it. So I took it, chewed it, shook it, and softened it, then I gave it to him. He cleaned his teeth with it as well as I ever saw him clean his teeth. Then he tried to hand it to me, but it fell from his hand. So I began to supplicate to Allah ﷻ with the supplication that Jibril ﷺ used to make for him, and which he himself used to make when he was ill, but he did not make it in that illness. Then he raised his gaze to the sky and said: ‘The highest companion, the highest companion,’ meaning, and his soul departed. Praise be to Allah Who joined my saliva with his on the last day of the days of this world.”
