حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا النَّهَّاسُ بْنُ قَهْمٍ أَبُو الْخَطَّابِ عَنْ شَدَّادٍ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ الشَّامِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ عَوْفُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ يَا طَاعُونُ خُذْنِي إِلَيْكَ قَالَ فَقَالُوا أَلَيْسَ قَدْ
سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَا عَمَّرَ الْمُسْلِمُ كَانَ خَيْرًا لَهُ؟ قَالَ بَلَى وَلَكِنِّي أَخَافُ سِتًّا إِمَارَةَ السُّفَهَاءِ وَبَيْعَ الْحُكْمِ وَكَثْرَةَ الشُّرَطِ وَقَطِيعَةَ الرَّحِمِ وَنَشْءً يَنْشَئُونَ يَتَّخِذُونَ الْقُرْآنَ مَزَامِيرَ وَسَفْكَ الدَّمِ

✧ I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whatever the Muslim lives longer, it is better for him?' He said, 'Yes, but I fear six things: the rule of the foolish, the sale of judgment, the proliferation of police, the severing of kinship ties, a generation that arises taking the Qur'an as songs, and the shedding of blood.'
