حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمُقْرِئُ حَدَّثَنَا حَيْوَةُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو هَانِئٍ حُمَيْدُ بْنُ هَانِئٍ
عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَالِكٍ الْجَنْبِيِّ حَدَّثَنَا أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ فَضَالَةَ بْنَ عُبَيْدٍ صَاحِبَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ سَمِعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ رَجُلًا يَدْعُو فِي الصَّلَاةِ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرِ اللهَ ﷻ وَلَمْ يُصَلِّ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَجِلَ هَذَا ثُمَّ دَعَاهُ فَقَالَ لَهُ وَلِغَيْرِهِ إِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَبْدَأْ بِتَحْمِيدِ رَبِّهِ وَالثَّنَاءِ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ لِيُصَلِّ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ثُمَّ لِيَدْعُ بَعْدُ بِمَا شَاءَ

✧ From ʿAmr b. Mālik al-Janbī: He reported that he heard Faḍālah b. ʿUbayd, a companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, say: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ heard a man supplicating in prayer without mentioning Allah ﷻ or invoking blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'This one has rushed.' Then he called him and said to him and to others, 'When one of you prays, let him begin with praising his Lord and extolling Him, then invoke blessings upon the Prophet, then supplicate afterwards for whatever he wishes.'
