✧ I was with Salim b. 'Ubayd on a journey. A man sneezed and said: 'Peace be upon you.' He said: 'Upon you and upon your mother.' Then he moved on. Then he said: 'Perhaps you felt annoyed?' He said: 'I did not want you to mention my mother.' He said: 'I could only say that. I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey. A man sneezed and said: "Peace be upon you." He said: "Upon you and upon your mother." Then he said: "When one of you sneezes, let him say: 'Praise be to Allah in every situation' — or 'Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds' — and let it be said to him: 'May Allah have mercy on you all' or 'May Allah have mercy on you' — Yahya was uncertain — and let him say: 'May Allah forgive me and you.'"'
