حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا قَيْسُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ شَابُورَ رَجُلٌ مَنْ بَنِي أَسَدٍ عَنْ شَقِيقٍ أَوْ نَحْوِهِ شَكَّ قَيْسٌ
أَنَّ سَلْمَانَ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ رَجُلٌ فَدَعَا لَهُ بِمَا كَانَ عِنْدَهُ، فَقَالَ: لَوْلَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَانَا - أَوْ لَوْلَا أَنَّا نُهِينَا - أَنْ يَتَكَلَّفَ أَحَدُنَا لِصَاحِبِهِ لَتَكَلَّفْنَا لَكَ
Translation

✧ A man entered upon Salman, and he called for what he had and said: Were it not that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade us — or were it not that we were forbidden — from burdening ourselves for a guest, we would have burdened ourselves for you.
