But al-Layth narrated it from ʿUqayl, from al-Zuhrī, from ʿAṭāʾ, from Ubayy b. Kaʿb, and the correct version is from Abū Ayyūb. Ibrāhīm b. Saʿd narrated it from al-Zuhrī, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Yazīd b. Jāriyah al-Anṣārī, from Abū Ayyūb. It is also said, from Ibrāhīm b. Saʿd, from al-Zuhrī, from a man, from Abū Ayyūb. Ayyūb al-Sakhtiyānī narrated it from al-Zuhrī, from two men whom he did not name, from Abū Ayyūb. Nāfiʿ b. ʿUmar al-Jumaḥī narrated it as a mursal report from al-Zuhrī, from the Prophet ﷺ. The correct statement is that of Ibn ʿUyaynah and those who followed him.
