✧ That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stayed with him. The Prophet ﷺ stayed downstairs, while Abu Ayyub was upstairs. Abu Ayyub woke up one night and said: "We are walking above the head of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." So he moved, and they spent the night in a side. When morning came, he mentioned that to the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ said: "The lower floor is more convenient for me." Abu Ayyub said: "I will not be above a roof under which you are." So Abu Ayyub moved downstairs, and the Prophet ﷺ upstairs. He used to prepare the Prophet's ﷺ food and send it to him. When it was returned to him, he would ask about the place of the Prophet's ﷺ fingers, then follow the traces of the Prophet's ﷺ fingers and eat from where his finger traces were. One day he prepared food containing garlic and sent it to him. He asked about the place of the Prophet's ﷺ finger traces, and was told: "He did not eat." So he went up to him and said: "Is it forbidden?" The Prophet ﷺ said: "I dislike it." He said: "Then I dislike what you dislike, or what you disliked." And the Prophet ﷺ used to be brought [food].
