✧ Hudhayfah b. al-Yaman about the Prophet ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ حَدَّثَنَا السَّفْرُ بْنُ نُسَيْرٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ وَغَيْرُهُ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ الْيَمَانِ

أَنَّهُ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّا كُنَّا فِي شَرٍّ فَذَهَبَ اللهُ بِذَلِكَ الشَّرِّ وَجَاءَ بِالْخَيْرِ عَلَى يَدَيْكَ فَهَلْ بَعْدَ الْخَيْرِ مِنْ شَرٍّ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ مَا هُوَ؟ قَالَ فِتَنٌ كَقِطَعِ اللَّيْلِ الْمُظْلِمِ يَتْبَعُ بَعْضُهَا بَعْضًا تَأْتِيكُمْ مُشْتَبِهَةً كَوُجُوهِ الْبَقَرِ لَا تَدْرُونَ أَيًّا مِنْ أَيٍّ

Translation

  3. al-Safr b. Nusayr al-Azdī And Ghayruh
  4. Ḥudhayfah b. al-Yamān

✧ He said, "O Messenger of God, we were in evil, and God removed that evil and brought good through your hands. Is there evil after this good?" He said, "Yes." He said, "What is it?" He said, "Trials like patches of dark night, following one another, coming to you confused like the faces of cattle, so that you will not know which is which."
