حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنِ الْأَشْعَثِ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي يَرْبُوعَ قَالَ
أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَسَمِعْتُهُ وَهُوَ يُكَلِّمُ النَّاسَ يَقُولُ: يَدُ الْمُعْطِي الْعُلْيَا: أُمَّكَ، وَأَبَاكَ، وَأُخْتَكَ، وَأَخَاكَ، ثُمَّ أَدْنَاكَ أَدْنَاكَ. فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، هَؤُلَاءِ بَنُو ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ يَرْبُوعٍ الَّذِينَ أَصَابُوا فُلَانًا. قَالَ: فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: أَلَا لَا تَجْنِي نَفْسٌ عَلَى أُخْرَى

✧ I came to the Prophet ﷺ and heard him addressing the people, saying: “The upper hand is the giver’s: your mother, your father, your sister, your brother, then the next nearest, the next nearest.” A man said: “O Messenger of Allah, these are the Banu Tha‘laba b. Yarbu‘ who harmed so-and-so.” He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Indeed, no soul shall bear the sin of another.”
