حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَجُلًا مِنْ بَنِي لَيْثٍ قَالَ
أَسَرَنِي نَاسٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، فَكُنْتُ مَعَهُمْ، فَأَصَابُوا غَنَمًا، فَانْتَهَبُوهَا، فَطَبَخُوهَا قَالَ: فَسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: إِنَّ النُّهْبَى - أَوِ النُّهْبَةَ - لَا تَصْلُحُ، فَأَكْفَؤُوا الْقُدُورَ
Translation

✧ Some companions of the Prophet ﷺ took me captive, and I was with them. They captured some sheep and plundered them and cooked them. He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: 'Plunder - or plundered property - is not lawful,' so they overturned the pots.
