✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ woke up and called Bilal, saying, "O Bilal, how have you preceded me to Paradise? I have never entered Paradise without hearing the rustling of your footsteps before me. Last night I entered Paradise and heard your rustling, and I came upon a lofty, elevated palace of gold. I asked, 'For whom is this palace?' They said, 'For a man of the Arabs.' I said, 'I am an Arab; for whom is this palace?' They said, 'For a man from the Muslims of the community of Muhammad.' I said, 'I am Muhammad; for whom is this palace?' They said, 'For Umar b. al-Khattab.'" The Messenger of God ﷺ then said, "Were it not for your jealousy, O Umar, I would have entered the palace." Umar said, "O Messenger of God, I would never be jealous of you." He said, and he said to Bilal, "How have you preceded me to Paradise?" He said, "I never perform ablution without praying two rak'ahs." The Messenger of God ﷺ said, "By this."
