حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُهُ يُحَدِّثُ
أَنَّ امْرَأَةً جَاءَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ قَالَ فَهَلْ تَقْرَأُ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ شَيْئًا؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ مَاذَا؟ قَالَ سُورَةَ كَذَا وَسُورَةَ كَذَا وَسُورَةَ كَذَا قَالَ فَقَدْ أَمْلَكْتُكَهَا بِمَا مَعَكَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ قَالَ فَرَأَيْتُهُ يَمْضِي وَهِيَ تَتْبَعُهُ
Translation

✧ That a woman came to the Prophet ﷺ, and he mentioned the hadith. He said: Do you know anything of the Qur'an? He said: Yes. He said: What? He said: Surah such-and-such and Surah such-and-such and Surah such-and-such. He said: I have given her to you in marriage for what you have of the Qur'an. He said: I saw him going off while she followed him.
