✧ We set out as pilgrims, and when we were at al-'Arj, suddenly there was a snake writhing. It did not linger before it died. A man took out a rag from his bag, wrapped it in it, buried it, and dug a grave for it in the ground. When we came to Makkah, while we were in the Sacred Mosque, a person stopped before us and said: Which of you is the companion of 'Amr b. Jabir? We said: We do not know him. He said: Which of you is the companion of the jinn? They said: This one. He said: Indeed, may Allah reward you well. Indeed, he was the last of the nine to die among those who came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to listen to the Quran.
