✧ A man came to the Messenger of God ﷺ and said, “Tell me, if a man comes wanting to rob me or to take my property, what do you command me to do?” He said, “Adjure him by God.” He said, “If I do that and he does not stop?” He said, “Seek help from the ruler.” He said, “If none of them is near me?” He said, “Strive against him—or fight him—until you are recorded among the martyrs of the Hereafter, or you protect your property.”
