Thawban, the freed servant of the Prophet ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ وَرَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ الرَّحَبِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي ثَوْبَانُ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ

بَيْنَمَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْشِي فِي الْبَقِيعِ فِي رَمَضَانَ رَأَى رَجُلًا يَحْتَجِمُ، فَقَالَ: أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ

✧ While the Messenger of God ﷺ was walking in al-Baqīʿ during Ramadan, he saw a man being cupped, and said: The cupper and the one cupped have broken the fast.
