Thawban, the freed servant of the Prophet ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ وَبَهْزٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ قَالَ بَهْزٌ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ مَعْدَانَ عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ

مَنْ فَارَقَ الرُّوحُ الْجَسَدَ وَهُوَ بَرِيءٌ مِنْ ثَلَاثٍ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ: الْغُلُولِ، وَالدَّيْنِ. قَالَ بَهْزٌ: وَالْكِبْرِ

✧ Whoever's soul separates from his body while he is free of three things will enter Paradise: embezzlement and debt." Bahz said: "And arrogance."
