Thawban, the freed servant of the Prophet ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ شُرَيْحٍ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي حَيٍّ الْمُؤَذِّنِ عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ

لَا يَحِلُّ لِامْرِئٍ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ أَنْ يَنْظُرَ فِي جَوْفِ بَيْتِ امْرِئٍ حَتَّى يَسْتَأْذِنَ، فَإِنْ نَظَرَ فَقَدْ دَخَلَ، وَلَا يَؤُمَّ قَوْمًا فَيَخْتَصَّ نَفْسَهُ بِدُعَاءٍ دُونَهُمْ، فَإِنْ فَعَلَ فَقَدْ خَانَهُمْ، وَلَا يُصَلِّيَ وَهُوَ حَقِنٌ حَتَّى يَتَخَفَّفَ

✧ It is not lawful for any Muslim to look into the inside of another person's house until he asks permission. If he looks, then he has entered. And no one should lead people in prayer and then single himself out for supplication to their exclusion; if he does so, he has betrayed them. And he should not pray while restraining the urge to urinate until he relieves himself.
