حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ حَدَّثَنَا السَّرِيُّ بْنُ يَنْعُمَ حَدَّثَنِي عَامِرُ بْنُ جَشِيبٍ عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ

دُعِينَا إِلَى وَلِيمَةٍ وَهُوَ مَعَنَا، فَلَمَّا شَبِعَ مِنَ الطَّعَامِ قَامَ، فَقَالَ: أَمَا إِنِّي لَسْتُ أَقُومُ مَقَامِي هَذَا خَطِيبًا كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِذَا شَبِعَ مِنَ الطَّعَامِ قَالَ: الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ كَثِيرًا طَيِّبًا مُبَارَكًا فِيهِ غَيْرَ مَكْفِيٍّ، وَلَا مُسْتَغْنًى عَنْهُ

✧ We were invited to a wedding feast while he was with us. When he had eaten his fill, he stood and said: “Indeed, I am not standing in this position as a speaker. The Prophet ﷺ, when he had eaten his fill, would say: ‘Praise be to Allah, abundant, good, blessed praise, not sufficient, and not dispensable with.’”
