حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ أَبِي غَالِبٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا أُمَامَةَ يُحَدِّثُ
فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ زَيْغٌ فَيَتَّبِعُونَ مَا تَشَابَهَ مِنْهُ قَالَ: هُمُ الْخَوَارِجُ وَفِي قَوْلِهِ يَوْمَ تَبْيَضُّ وُجُوهٌ وَتَسْوَدُّ وُجُوهٌ قَالَ: هُمُ الْخَوَارِجُ.

✧ Regarding His saying, Mighty and Majestic: 'As for those in whose hearts is deviation, they follow what is ambiguous of it' (Qur'an 3:7), he said: 'They are the Khawarij.' And regarding His saying: 'On the Day when some faces will turn white and some faces will turn black' (Qur'an 3:106), he said: 'They are the Khawarij.'
