حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَذَّاءُ عَنْ بَرَكَةَ أَبِي الْوَلِيدِ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَاعِدًا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ مُسْتَقْبِلًا الْحَجَرَ، قَالَ: فَنَظَرَ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ فَضَحِكَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: لَعَنَ اللهُ الْيَهُودَ؛ حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الشُّحُومُ فَبَاعُوهَا، وَأَكَلُوا أَثْمَانَهَا، وَإِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِذَا حَرَّمَ عَلَى قَوْمٍ أَكْلَ شَيْءٍ حَرَّمَ عَلَيْهِمْ ثَمَنَهُ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ was sitting in the mosque facing the Stone. He said: He looked at the sky and laughed, then said: God has cursed the Jews; fats were forbidden to them, but they sold them and consumed their prices. And when God, Mighty and Majestic, forbids a people from eating something, He forbids them its price.
