✧ My Father and Waged al-Laithi

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ وَابْنُ بَكْرٍ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ سَرْجِسَ قَالَ عُدْنَا أَبَا وَاقِدٍ الْبَكْرِيَّ

عُدْنَا أَبَا وَاقِدٍ الْبَكْرِيَّ. وَقَالَ ابْنُ بَكْرٍ الْبَدْرِيَّ: فِي وَجَعِهِ الَّذِي مَاتَ فِيهِ، فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَخَفَّ النَّاسِ صَلَاةً عَلَى النَّاسِ، وَأَطْوَلَ النَّاسِ صَلَاةً لِنَفْسِهِ [ ﷺ ]

✧ We visited Abu Waqid al-Bakri—and Ibn Bakr said al-Badri—during the illness in which he died. I heard him say: 'The Prophet ﷺ was the lightest of people in prayer when leading others, and the longest of people in prayer when praying for himself ﷺ.'
