✧ I said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: I want to spend the night at your place and pray as you pray. He said: 'You will not be able to pray as I pray.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then got up to bathe, and he was screened by a cloth while I turned away from him, and he bathed, then I did the same, then he stood to pray and I stood with him, until I began to hit my head against the walls because of the length of his prayer. Then Bilal called the adhan for prayer, and he said: 'Did you do that?' He said: Yes. He said: 'O Bilal, you call the adhan when the dawn is shining in the sky, and that is not the dawn; rather, the dawn is like this, spread horizontally.' Then he called for suhur and ate it.
