حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ نُعَيْمٍ قَالَ

مَنْ تَقَرَّبَ إِلَى اللهِ [عَزَّ وَجَلَّ] شِبْرًا، تَقَرَّبَ إِلَيْهِ ذِرَاعًا، وَمَنْ تَقَرَّبَ إِلَى اللهِ ذِرَاعًا، تَقَرَّبَ إِلَيْهِ بَاعًا، وَمَنْ أَقْبَلَ عَلَى اللهِ [عَزَّ وَجَلَّ] مَاشِيًا، أَقْبَلَ اللهُ إِلَيْهِ مُهَرْوِلًا ". وَاللهُ أَعْلَى وَأَجَلُّ، وَاللهُ أَعْلَى وَأَجَلُّ، وَاللهُ أَعْلَى وَأَجَلُّ

Translation

Chain of narrators

  4. Yazīd b. Nuʿaym

✧ Whoever draws near to God [Mighty and Majestic] by a span, He draws near to him by a cubit. Whoever draws near to God by a cubit, He draws near to him by an arm's length. Whoever comes to God [Mighty and Majestic] walking, God comes to him at a hastening pace." And God is Most High and Most Majestic, and God is Most High and Most Majestic, and God is Most High and Most Majestic.
