حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ الْأَزْرَقِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي تَمِيمٍ قَالَ كُنَّا عِنْدَ بَابِ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ وَفِينَا أَبُو ذَرٍّ قَالَ

كُنَّا عِنْدَ بَابِ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، وَفِينَا أَبُو ذَرٍّ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: صَوْمُ شَهْرِ الصَّبْرِ وَثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ، صَوْمُ الدَّهْرِ، وَيُذْهِبُ مَغْلَةَ الصَّدْرِ. قَالَ: قُلْتُ: وَمَا مَغْلَةُ الصَّدْرِ؟ قَالَ: " رِجْسُ الشَّيْطَانِ.

✧ We were at the door of Muʿāwiyah b. Abī Sufyān, and among us was Abū Dharr. He said: I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say, “Fasting the month of patience and three days of every month is the fasting of a lifetime, and it removes the filth of the chest.” He said: I said, “And what is the filth of the chest?” He said, “The impurity of Satan.”
