✧ I said, “O Messenger of God, the wealthy have taken the reward: they pray, fast, and perform Hajj!” He said, “And you also pray, fast, and perform Hajj.” I said, “They give charity, but we do not give charity!” He said, “And in you there is charity: your removing a bone from the road is charity; your guiding someone on the way is charity; your helping the weak by your extra strength is charity; your speaking clearly for the one with defective speech is charity; and your having intercourse with your wife is charity.” He said: I said, “O Messenger of God, we come to our desire and are rewarded?!” He said, “Have you considered if you placed it in what is forbidden—would you be sinning?” He said: I said, “Yes.” He said, “So you reckon the evil, but you do not reckon the good?!”
