✧ I met Abu Dharr and said to him: It has reached me that you narrate a hadith from the Messenger of God ﷺ? He said: Indeed, do not think that I would lie about the Messenger of God ﷺ after what I heard from him. So what is it that has reached you from me? I said: It has reached me that you say: Three whom God loves, and three whom God [Mighty and Majestic] abhors. He said: I said it and I heard it. I said: Who are these whom God loves? He said: "A man who meets the enemy in the midst of the armed group and bares his chest to them until he is killed or victory is achieved for his companions; a group of people traveling for a long time at night until they love to touch the ground, so they dismount and one of them withdraws and prays until he wakes them for their departure; and a man who has a neighbor who harms him with his proximity, and he bears patiently with his harm until death or departure separates them." I said: And who are these whom God abhors? He said: "The swearing trader—or he said: the swearing seller—the miserly boaster, and the poor arrogant one."
