21512 21574 21184 - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنِ الزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ، عَنْ أَبِي رَزِينٍ، عَنْ زِرِّ بْنِ حُبَيْشٍ، عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ بِمِثْلِهِ
Translation
✧ It was narrated to us by ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Mahdī, from Sufyān, from al-Zubayr b. ʿAdī, from Abū Razīn, from Zirr b. Ḥubaysh, from Ubayy b. Kaʿb, similarly.

machine translationThe hadith of al-Thawrī from Ubayy is more sound (aṣaḥḥ); he is the best memorizer among them and is higher than these by several degrees. The hadith is more fitting as from Ubayy, since ʿĀṣim narrated it from Zirr, from Ubayy, from the Prophet ﷺ, and Ḥudhayfah has nothing from the Prophet ﷺ concerning the two Muʿawwidhatayn that carries any weight.
