✧ I was with the Prophet ﷺ when a Bedouin came and said: O Prophet of God, I have a brother who is ill. He said: "What is his illness?" He said: He has a touch of madness. He said: "Bring him to me." So he placed him before him, and the Prophet ﷺ sought protection for him with the Opening of the Book, four verses from the beginning of Surat al-Baqarah, these two verses: "And your God is one God," the Verse of the Throne, three verses from the end of Surat al-Baqarah, a verse from Al Imran: "God bears witness that there is no god but He," a verse from al-A'raf: "Indeed your Lord is God who created the heavens and the earth," the end of Surat al-Mu'minun: "Exalted is God, the True King," a verse from Surat al-Jinn: "And that exalted is the majesty of our Lord," ten verses from the beginning of al-Saffat, three verses from the end of Surat al-Hashr, and "Say: He is God, One," and the two protective suras. The man stood up as if he had never complained at all.
