Translation

✧ I went out with Zayd b. Suhan and Salman b. Rabi'ah, and when we were at al-'Udhayb I picked up a whip. They said to me, 'Throw it away.' I refused. Then when I arrived in Madinah, I met Ubayy b. Ka'b and mentioned that to him. He said, 'I picked up a hundred dinars in the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and asked him about it. He said, "Announce it for a year." I announced it for a year but found no one who recognized it.' He said, 'So he said, "Note its number, its container, and its tie, then announce it for a year. If its owner comes, then (return it); otherwise, it is like the way of your property."'
