✧ Even Nawf claims that Moses ﷺ was not the companion of Khidr. He said: The enemy of Allah has lied! Ubayy b. Ka'b narrated to us from the Prophet ﷺ: Moses ﷺ stood as a preacher among the Children of Israel and was asked: Which of the people is most knowledgeable? He said: I am. Allah reproached him for not attributing knowledge to Him, saying: Rather, there is a servant of Mine at the meeting of the two seas who is more knowledgeable than you. He said: O Lord, how can I find him? He said: Take a fish and put it in a basket, then set out; wherever you lose it, he will be there. Moses set out with his servant, walking, until they reached the rock. Moses ﷺ slept, and the fish flopped in the basket, got out, and fell into the sea. Allah held back the flow of water from it like an arch, and it was a tunnel for the fish.—Sufyan said: He joined the thumb and forefinger and spread them apart.—They set off until the next day, Moses said to his servant: Bring us our meal; we have certainly met with fatigue from this journey of ours. He said: He had not felt fatigue until he had passed beyond where he was commanded. He said: That is what we were seeking. So they retraced their footsteps, following their tracks, tracing their footprints. He said: The trace of the fish was a wonder for Moses, and it was a tunnel for the fish.
