✧ I watched the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a night when he prayed the whole night until dawn. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had finished his prayer, Khabbab came to him and said, "O Messenger of Allah, by my father and mother, you have prayed tonight a prayer the like of which I have not seen you pray before." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, it was a prayer of desire and fear. I asked my Lord, Blessed and Exalted, in it for three things; He granted me two and withheld one. I asked my Lord, Blessed and Exalted, not to destroy us with what He destroyed the nations before us, and He granted me that. I asked my Lord, Mighty and Majestic, not to set over us an enemy from other than us, and He granted me that. I asked my Lord, Blessed and Exalted, not to divide us into factions, and He withheld that from me."
