حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ بْنِ رَافِعٍ عَنْ تَمِيمِ بْنِ طَرَفَةَ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ
دَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَنَحْنُ رَافِعِو أَيْدِينَا فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَقَالَ مَا لِي أَرَاكُمْ رَافِعِي أَيْدِيكُمْ كَأَنَّهَا أَذْنَابُ خَيْلٍ شُمْسٍ اسْكُنُوا فِي الصَّلَاةِ قَالَ وَدَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا الْمَسْجِدَ وَنَحْنُ حِلَقٌ مُتَفَرِّقُونَ فَقَالَ مَا لِي أَرَاكُمْ عِزِينَ
Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came upon us while we were raising our hands in prayer, and he said: “Why do I see you raising your hands as if they were the tails of restive horses? Be still in prayer.” He said: And he entered the mosque upon us while we were in separate circles, and he said: “Why do I see you in scattered groups?”
